Owen's October Challenge - fundraising for PACT
As a school we are joining Owen's October Challenge, in memory of Owen Jenkinson, a local teenager who sadly died in 2025 from a very rare type of bone cancer. The family are aiming to raise £100,000 for PACT charity, which support families who are dealing with the illness or loss of a child from tumours/leukaemia.
You can find out more about this important charity by following the link below. The challenge is a physical one - where those involved sign up to walk, run or bike 5 or 10km per day, every day in October! Miss Hainsworth and I are doing the whole month!
As a school, we are signing up to do this for one day and all children in school will be taking part by walking/running around our daily mile track to complete 5k. We will be completing this on Wednesday 14th October throughout the school day. Each class will be given a slot when they can go outside and complete their challenge.
In assembly on Tuesday, we discussed the challenge and why we are supporting this fundraising cause. The children are very eager to be involved! You can see the Just Giving page below, which gives more information about Owen and the challenge. Every little helps - if you able to donate that would be fantastic!
Thank you for your support.
